All horses for show and competition events must have a negative

EIA (Coggins Test) within the past 12 months

NOTICE: All horse show exhibitors must get their exhibitor number and

entry number from Gary, Vicki or members of the Wrangler Club in the Educational Building from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22nd, or

from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23rd  If an individual is making

no entry other than Horse Show they may make their entry by phone at

262-0683 during the above hours. Entrants may enter into more classes,

prior to horse show, if they have previously obtained their Exhibitor Number.)

Absolutely no late entries.

Any exhibitor must be a bonafide resident of Canadian County.

 

Showmanship Youth Award: The El Reno Wrangler's Club will present

trophies to winners in each age group.

 

HORSES entered and to be shown in more than one class, must be shown and owned by the same immediate family. Entrants must wear appropriate western attire.

 

STALLIONS 2 Years and older are ineligible for the halter classes.

 

AGE DIVISION:

Beginner - 8 years and under

Junior - 9 thru 13 as of January 1 current year

Senior - 14 thru 18 as of January 1 current year

Adult - 19 years and over as of January 1 current year

 

All classes except Junior, Senior, and Adult Showmanship judged 75%

horse and 25% showmanship.

Novice Classes: rider and horse not professionally trained and shows only at Canadian County Fair Horse Show.

RULE: In any approved performance class, the judge shall have the authority to require the removal or alteration of any piece of equipment or accoutrement which, in his opinion, would tend to give a horse an unfair advantage or which he feels to be inhumane.

Ranch Horse Cutting  Contest

All horses for show and competition events must have a negative

EIA (Coggins Test) within the past 12 months

NOTICE: All Ranch Horse Cutting  exhibitors may enter until the contest starts at 5:00 pm.

Any exhibitor must be a bonafide resident of Canadian County.

Cash only will be accepted.

FQHA rules will apply to the Ranch Horse Cutting Contest. Judging will start at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. There will be a cattle charge in the Novice rider class and the open class. There will be an optional jackpot in the open class.

CLASS

1. Youth Class—12 years old and under

2. Youth Class—13 to 18 years old

3. Novice Rider—Any Horse

4. Open—Eligible to all horses and Riders

 

 

1st , 2nd and 3rd place awards will be presented in each class.

EIA (Coggins Test) within the past 12 months

 

NOTICE: All Team and Jackpot Roping competition exhibitors must get their exhibitor number from Nick between 6-7 p.m., prior to the start of the event at the rodeo grounds in El Reno. All ropers must be a bonafide resident of Canadian County.

 

Three head for $20.00. Any exhibitor is limited to enter ten times. Progressive after one. A stock fee will be charged. 20% of the Jackpot will go into the first round. The remaining 80% will go into the average. Championship Buckles will be awarded to the Header and Heeler with the lowest average time on three head. Cash only will be accepted.

If your horse has ever worked around cattle you can do this event!

NOTICE: Enter before this event starts at the rodeo grounds in El Reno.  To enter in the county classes, you must be a resident of Canadian County.

SORTING RULES

(Demonstration run will be held prior to contest)

1. 90 second time limit

2. Twelve head or more 10 head number 0-9

3. Pen size no larger than 60x60 square

4. Twelve foot gate (or opening) between two pens

5. Time begins when the nose of the first horse crosses the plane of the gate.

 

CLASS:

1. Youth Class. 18 years old and under; 3 ride limit; $5.00 per team member cattle charge

2. Draw Pot – 3 ride limit; $10.00 per person; 50% payback

3. National Select – 1 ride limit; $20.00 per person; 60% payback County premiums to each individual

Top Hand Award (traveling buckle) sponsored by Little Joes Boots will be awarded to open rider with most points in 3 runs. In case of a tie, points from the 4th run will be counted. Points will be awarded as follows:

1st – 5 points, 2nd – 4 points, 3rd – 3 points, 4th – 2 points, 5th – 1 point

 

Following county classes there will be an open sorting starting no earlier than 8:00 p.m. Award sponsors for Team Sorting event to be announced later.
